Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len is the creator of a problem-solving process called Ho’oponopono. It originated in Hawaii as a way to resolve family conflicts and grievances. Dr. Hew Len has brought this ancient Hawaiian art into the modern day as a tool for personal growth and change.
In Ho’oponopono, the belief is that we are 100% responsible for everything in our lives. If we encounter problems, those problems are coming from errors or disturbances within us. The solution is to “clean” those errors through repentance, forgiveness, and releasing the past.
According to Dr. Hew Len, cleaning is essential for being inspired and connecting to the divine within. He shares:
“For example, with my family, I never say anything. My children know a little bit about it, they think I am strange. so I just do the cleaning so that I can get inspired. For me the cleaning is so essential to be inspired like when I do this class I on only cleaning so I hope the divinity will come to me and talk. I have to honor all of you. For me, it’s such an honor to be in your presence, in the presence of cleaning you will be inspired to do whatever. I’m filled with error, So I clean.” – Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len
For Dr. Hew Len, cleaning does not involve outward action. It is an inner repentance, forgiveness, and release of errors within oneself. He believes when we clean, we gain inspiration, connect to divinity, and experience blessings in our lives.
